Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons are specialists with advanced training and expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of various head and neck conditions and injuries. After four years of dental school, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon completes four to six years of additional formal training in treating the craniomaxillofacial complex. Dr. Benting often works directly with an oral surgeon for certain surgical procedures including tooth extraction, oral reconstruction, dental implants, biopsy and treatment of oral lesions and oral cancers. When planning treatment, Dr. Benting will determine whether it is in your best interest to be seen by an oral surgeon for completion of maxillofacial surgical procedures. We are confident in our network of specialists and can refer you to an oral surgeon that will provide you with the best possible care.
The following are just some of the many conditions, treatments and procedures which oral and maxillofacial surgeons deal with on a daily basis. While Dr. Benting can also treat several of these conditions, he may refer you to an oral surgeon for evaluation and treatment if he feels it best for you and the outcome of your treatment.
